Silvia Turbo is almost In

Hey Guys,

I told you I will get you posted. My car is in the shop and they are putting in my silvia turbo right now. The set up is, Upgraded pistons, cams, manifold, head gasket, o rings, stage 2 act clutch, spearco intercooler, greddy bov (made for a supra), wastegate, full down pipe connecting to custom manifolds, 1 step colder platinum sparks, 75 shots of NOS, A/F guage, EGT guage, Greddy Boost controll, Greddy turbo timer, MSD ignition timer, and sway bar. I think I am missing a couple of things, Still waiting for custom roll cage, sparco race seats. I am having my whole trunk customized with 2 eclipse amps, 2 jl Subs, rear speakers and jl crossovers to be lined with streetglow and customized sub encloser and nos mounts. Well, I am going to pick up my car at around 9 tonight, so I will post my first impressions of my test drive....I still have a stage 3 clutch coming in to pair with my t3/t4 turbo charger that is on the way. See you guys around.

I agree haha

Hey Guys,

Pic will come when I get my car back. It is 10 o clock now but the shop called and said the work will not be done for another two days. They have to run all the wires to my system. Turbo is in and the only thing left is my custom trunk. Da**it I have no trunk space. Haha I have enough room for a playstation 2 in my trunk. Sucks huh? Well I should be seeing my car on the 4th. Not a bad day to get it back. Well this is all i know for now except the fact that the maximum PSI i can run is 11. That's all until I get my car back. Pics will be up as soon as I get my car back......I want my car back. Have to drive a 1990 sentra till I get my car back

Cams

Well my friends from charisma in Ca had them custom made for me. I have had them in for a couple of day now and they makea hell of a difference. I also had my compression ratio lower to 8.5.1 so my third gear pulls the hardest. I think we might find a way to make the cams visible, but the guys that are working on my car are going to surprise me with the display set up and wiring of all guages, system, and lighting. I know they have torn apart my trunk and floor board. One can only wait to see what they have done. Now, all I need is a carbon fiber hood to replace the dented one I have. Haha, a bit ghetto I know. O I need a body kit as well...any donations.. this project has pretty much cleaned me out.

HOw the doodoo did you get down to 8.5:1 compression?
Lets not talk about that, anyway, this must have cost plenty of pennies!

8.5:1???? are you running 20lbs of boost??? talk about turbo lag.

and id really like to know how you have custom cams.. maxima's have never had cams, therefore putting them on might be difficult.

My friend is doing the work on the car so he will be better equiped to answer this question. As for the 8.5.1 compression, this is also what my friend has told me. I believe he has put in JE Pistons? I will get all the info when the project is done

Do you really know a lot about the turbo setup, because all is said and done, you will have to maintain that sucker if you run into problems.

I was lucky because I got all this done for $1800.00. Like I stated in a previous post, I got the silvia turbo for free off a guy that crashed his silvia. The T3/T4 turbo that I am getting is coming off my boys car because he is getting a truck. My speaker system also came out of his car, a 95 turbo civic hatchback. All the parts were made purchased at charisma in CA where he had store credit. He used to work there and owned a japanese integra type r. O did I tell you guys that his cousin owns a 800hp R33 Skyline. Its a bad A$$ as well as a 900 hp Supra. Where they got these cars and how they afforded it is beyond me. O well, until next time

I don't know all that much about turbo's but I know the basics and how it works. I have read the write ups on maximadriver.com and a couple of other sites. The guys at the shop will show me everything I need to know, hopefully on paper. Most the guys that work there are my friend, John's boys, so if I do run into a problem, they are only 10 minutes away.

you got lots of nice friends who give your stuff and set them up for you. consider I won't even give those and spend that much time for my son's car (if i ever had a son).
as far as the cam, it's custom? cams should be ultra precise and seriously tested, and you got your cam custom !? if your friend prove the cam is indeed that good (improve the performance, etc.) and cheap, tell your friend if he wants to make some money by selling us.

Like I said, all the manifolds, cams, pistons are custom made. Of course it is not out if they are custom. Custom cams cost you that much if you do not know someone that can do it. Like I said, these were made in CA and shipped to me. This is a project that has been in the works for more than a month. It makes it almost pointless to post when everyone is calling it BS or flames on you because this is my project that I have left for my friends to handle. I will post pics to prove you wrong, but in the mean time, I would like to thank those who aren't all about calling soemones elses honest post BS. To those who don't believe me, I have nothing to prove to you. I will post pics once I get my car back.

That is fine by me. But how are you going to see pictures of cams and pistons? O well Guess we can't prove it all. O yeah, they are modifying it so that the cams are visible.....

almost everybody here in the .org knows the cams and pistons are hidden. why not just post some pics before they are installed and while they are being installed. I'm sure one of your friend has a camera (don't even need a digicam) and post some pics here. prove it, test it, and we'll buy them. this sure can make up the cost of your project and keep some (a lot of) extra in your pocket. i know Turbo97GXE will be the first one to buy from you and he is willing to donate $10 for going to officemax scanning your pic of the cams and pistons . I'm just kidding, Turbo97GXE.

Umm yeah. Pics will be nice. A DYNO will be nicer. And no, we won't pay for it. If you could hook all this up, you should be able to hookup a dyno or get the guys who worked on it to chip in for a dyno to verify that you will smoke joe blow in his supra.

hey man

one thing i dont get. you metion the Silva turbo and a T3/T4 turbo. which one are you using on your car? if your using the Silva turbo there's no point in getting a wastegate cause its internal wastegate. 1800 is REALLY cheap..parts alone for building the motor should cost more then that.

I think he said he is getting the small silvia turbo as a temperary setup and then upgrading to a t3/t4 later on.

How are they doing that? Are they going to cut a "Custom" hole in your heads, just so you can see the cam?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Cams

okay.. anyways.. the silvia is a 4banger right? and you are putting a 4 banger turbo on a 6 cylinder and then lowering the compression to try and get more boost.. have you thought about your tranny? i mean cams and pistons and all are good, but the clutch may not be able to hold.. even if it is a "stage 2 act".. you might want to look into a stage 4 or 5 carbonic or kevlar clutch.. doubtful you will be able to get the car out of second with all that power.

it's hard to believe stuff that has never been accomplished before, dont call people haters.. just doubters. shut us up and get some pics..
