Frankencar intake question

The Frankencar intake is not a CAI nor a popcharger (HAI) design intake. I belive it is a hybrid intake. So, my question is, what makes this intake a hybrid one?

People call it a "hybrid" because it incorporates the upper section of a CAI with the "pop" style filter used in a WAI or HAI.

is there any difference from the frankencar intake vs. the one that is being sold on ebay...the K&N with midpipe attachment?

The FrankenCar midpipe has longer extensions on it.

Longer extensions don't equate to better a better intake. Those extensions don't have anything to do with performance. The one on Ebay can do the same thing as the Frankencar intake. For real performance though, you should get the Fast Lane Performance intake. It gives you a direct ram path to the throttle body and has the sickest sound ever heard on a Max.

The Frankencar is better suited for Mamixa's because DMBMaxima designed them for the VQ. That pipe on ebay doesn't even have long extentions on it. Buy the Frankencar. Steve will give you agood deal and he will help you with the install. I have the Frankencar and it rocks!

You MPG will go down because you will always be flooring your car to feel the pull and hear the tight sound

If your doing highway cruising, you will gain mileage. Around the city it will go to hell because of the desire to want to hear the growl.

Looks like I'll do without the radio when I get the Frankencar.
The purr will be like Music to my ears.
