beware overfill oil
#42
Definitely drain some out if it is overfilled. Sometimes if the oil is overfilled too much, the crankshaft whips it into a froth, and believe me..your oil pump does not like froth. Think about it like drinking beer foam instead of actual beer. Oil froth doesn't do the job like oil.

oi is oil is oil, synthetic and conventional work fine together, mixing viscosities is fine, mixing brands is fine, even throwing in some automatic tranny fluid in there is fine too. and dumping in 5 quarts into a Max is fine too. Nothing happened, except the car started right up, and it took longer for my oil leak to get below the hatchmarks.
How do they get 10w-40? they mix 10w and 40w together. How do they get part sythetic? They mix the two. How is 89 octane made? or any other octane? 87 octane is mixed at the pump with various amounts of 93.
Seriously, this isn't rocket science. More like a bar where they mix drinks.
