Pace setter STS

I ordered a sts from pace setter, from our local speed shop they just called me and said that it was only adjustable down to 20% from stock will someone please clarify this I was under the impression that you could get it down to 60% less. Thanks,
Ryan

Honestly, would that be a deal-breaker?

NO considering that it can be had for less than 70 bucks and all the other ones cost over 100 but I just want to know what I'm getting.

I never made an actual calculation of how many % my throw dropped but it feels like well over 50%. The shifter is also alot stiffer too (no side to side /up and down movement in gears). Its almost worth it just for that.
I have it on the absolute shortest setting.

The guy that runs Custommaxima shows that it is adjustable down to 80% so if he's correct then what you said seems right. But with you having it all the way down if it is really 80% you may be ruining your syncros.

How will it ruin your syncros?

How come I never saw this post before I bought my STS
I seem to have that problem alot and also a problem where if I get to a stop in first gear, and put the clutch in the go to neutral, sometimes it wont come OUT of first. Is that related to the same thing?

Ugh...I should of known the STS couldnt have been a total win/win modification.

My Pacesetter STS is set at 50% right now, and I haven't had any "problems" with it. However, when I get my clutch replaced next time (probably 10k-20k miles from now), I will have it raised to 75% of the original level. I still really like the feel of the shorter throws, but I'm not willing to deal with unnecessary repairs. Good luck!
