help, just installed hybrid but a problem!!!

I just installed my Hybrid intake. It wasn't as difficult as I thought, I followed all the instructions. The first time I turn on the engine, the enigine lights did not come on, after half and hour or so it finally did. I thought this was normal so I reset the ecu.
Now here is the problem: After resetting the ecu, The engine light goes off and stays off however when I turnm off the car and back on again, the light stays on wtf????

I am really confuse so please help!
thanx

Check and see what codes it is pulling, and also what did you do with your MAF sensor?

OK, I may be wrong here but when I helped my friend install his intake he took out a sensor and I think he covered it up but I could be wrong.

Ok, I just talked to my friend, and he said it was the air temp sensor he took out but he put it back in. It is where the ram air opening is at the front of the engine bay, and btw it wasn't your maf 'cause your car would sputter and die with that unplugged.

did u start the car without your intake fully together? if so its the MAF code...just make sure its all together, no leaks, and reset the ECU and it should be fine....pull the codes first, but im pretty confident its that

everything was together before I started the car. I pulled the codes and its the air temp sens. I'm still trying to figure which one of the plugs it is, I unplugged and plugged the one that was screw to the front of the ramair scoop, theres also a plug at the end of it just before where the stock air box would have been.

ok so, plug the sensor back in, if you took out the scoop, then just take out the piece that it was plugged into, and tie the harness down to something and let it hang there...then reset the ECU and it shold be gone......

i guess it wasnt the MAF

Just went for a short drive, everything seems ok, the engine lights hasn't come on yet so I think it'll be okay.

Ok !!!! My d*mn light came on again. I already remove the plug and the thing that was plugging into from the rear part of the air dam and stuck it into the upper pipe. Wtf why did the light come back on even after resetting the ecu??? was that the correct sensor (it was a plastic black thing attached to a gray plug). I'm stumped I don't know what to do next

OKay, I look at my haynes manual. I look at my stock airbox, and all over the intake area and still can find the air temp sensor, I remember only unplugging the MAF. I also unplugged and plugged the thing @ the end of the ram air scoop when I took it out. SO where is the d*mn air temp sensor on my 98 max???

If I'm right, the air temp sensor should be (on a stock intake system) below the air box, in the duct that goes up in the bottom of the box. It's just pushed in a hole in the duct.
