SSN?

How do you decode your social security number? You can also do drivers licenses...well at least in Jersey that I know, but probably works in all states. All the letters and numbers correspond to your physcial features and birthdate and other such things.

OK, now i'm confused...I looked at the VIN # explanations and compared them to my VIN. My VIN is JN1CA21DVTblahblah; the part I don't understand is the D signifies "Air Bags w/3-point belts", but I have ABS, so shouldn't that D be a T ("2-wheel Drive, 4-wheel ABS") instead? What's goin on here?

I'm not sure. When I get a chance, I'll take a look.

OK, thanks a bunch. I'm just suspicious cuz when I bought it used from a used car dealer in April or so it was listed as having ABS and there is an ABS light on the dash, but I haven't been able to activate the ABS yet. I have tried a few hard hard stops from 15 or 20 mph. Once I was doing about 55 and I slammed on the brakes, I don't think the pedal was fully to the floor, but the tires chirped and no ABS came on. Just wondering...these things always make me nervous because I had 2 accidents in my old '95 GLE that might not have happened if I had ABS.
