Does anyone have a "Full Maxima Service Manual"?

Ok, so I don't know the real name for it. But it is not the factory FSM or the Haynes/Chilton's manual, but it is the one that a Nissan dealership has that is thick as a **** and describes every bit of the Maxima in FULL detail. Does anyone have a copy of it? I need certain manual tranny pictures/how-to's out of it. Thanks

From the looks of your post, it loks like the Nissan Factory service manual is what you're looking for, but you say it's not

I have a 98 FSM, and If I needed to, I could build my car from scratch pretty much, with that manaul. It's deep, especially the electrical section.

It seems like the FSM is more engine/suspension/electric oriented more than anything else. Sometimes I have questions about my Max, and I look in my FSM and its not listed, or if it is, it's very basic.

I'll just bump this thread up a bit because I'm also wondering if the FSM is the ONLY book Nissan techs use.

The FSM is what every Maxima owner gets when they "purchase" their car. I am talking about a different book, it is like 3-4 inches thick and is huge. I am going to talk with JBWhitley about it. He knows what I am talking about.

No, eric, I think you have it confused. The Factory Service Manual is what Nissan uses to work on your car. It's thicker than a dictionary. With wiring diagrams and EVERYTHING you need

BTW I have one

Call me and we can meet somewhere. Told you to call me when you started this

I have one too, I think the diagrams su*k when you are trying to find a little part, like the PCV valve....but yeah, you could build the car from scratch, if need be.

You get the owners manual with the car. The Nissan Maxima Service Manual is what the dealers use and we have to buy if we want one. I bought 1 for $119 shipped, it has a black cover, is 2 inches thick and has 1538 pages. It is a high quality document that contains pictures, wiring diagrams and excellent trouble shooting procedures. IMO it is worth more than what I paid for it!
Be well!!!!

lol, I think Ramius knows that. I just think he's interested in seeing something in even more detail. Such as...

how to remove a door panel, or how to properly remove the hoodliner's clips without breaking the threads.

things like that?

Check the 4th gen parts sticky (if it is still there). I purchased my FSM from Nissan's distributor Diament, and Bill99GXE used my info to update the sticky. The number should be in the sticky. Price was $104 plus shipping I think.

It's not like you are asking if something beyond the FSM exists, it's as if you are telling us. I honestly don't think there is. What makes you so sure?

I think you are confusing me with someone else. I was referrering the big thick Factory Service Manual when I said I purchased one for $104. It has a zillion crispy thin pages and pretty much everything you need to know for your Maxima (although I think the Chiltons or Haynes is better for general maintenance reference).
