Re: Head Light Socket Burned.....

Buy a replacement socket from your local auto parts store. The replacement socket will come with some wire.

Buy some heat shrink tube. Cut old socket and some wire off. Strip wires. Cut a small length of heat shrink tube and slide over wire. Make the splice. Slide heat shrink tube over splice and heat with a lighter.

Waterproof seal. Complete with electrical tape for peace of mind.

Get the 9004 replacement socket. Should fit the bulb perfectly.

I had to do little shopping a few weeks back because of the burnt connectors/pins in the headlight socket. I have the apc harness with the apc bulbs but the sockets were still poorly made. It lasted about a year until it started heating up with the bad connection. The socket started burning out the bulb's pins too. I shopped around autozone/pepboys/strauss and they all carry poorly made sockets. Some of them don't even align right. All of them will give u very poor contact but for 5 bucks each socket, you can't really complain. However, I found Nissan's sockets to be very well made. In fact, they have 3 pins for each connector (3 connectors in a socket). The catch is that it's about 15 bucks each socket. It's worth it tho, so far my sockets are running real cool which means that it has good contact and can handle the voltage/amp. Btw, get the harness, or expect to constantly change your sockets. THe nissan one should outlast all of the aftermarket ones.
