Polished & SSIM'd 3.5 Manifold

Check the pics and dyno's below, they speak for themselves.

I have two versions available, the only difference being the exterior finish.

Your stock upper plenum, side cover/vias actuator, and elbow (polished versions only) are needed in return. There is more details about this part below. PM me if you need head porting or port-matched LIM's.

Price:

$325 Full polished version. The full package includes an SSIM modded intake with the outside of the upper plenum and elbow polished to look super sexy, along with a polished & ground down vias block-off plate made from the stock cover.
$100 unpolished The basic version includes all of the same inside mods (Shelf removed, smoothed over, cylinders 5/6/2 unshrouded) and also comes with a block off plate as well, it has more of a stock appearance to it, there is pics a post or two down

Core and shipping details:

If you send me yours to have this done-- It is the price listed above, and shipping back to you is included free of charge. Upon receiving it, depending on time of day it wil be on it's way back same day or next day.

If you go the core exchange route-- It is the cost listed above, plus shipping, plus return shipping, plus a $125 core charge that will be refunded upon receiving your manifold. Basically, you have to pay shipping when you buy it, give me a core deposit so I know I will get yours back, and than pay to ship yours back before you get that 'core' deposit back.

If you want just the SSIM: It is $100 (Same core & shipping situation as above)

Details:

I REALLY need yours back, otherwise you will be screwing the next person in-line.

As many of you know, the SSIM will make your car scream on the top-end.

Shipping is via fed-ex ground, other options are available for expedited shipping, though fed-ex ground is not only the cheapest out of the bunch it has proven to also be VERY reliable.

3/5/08 status:

For non-cores (aka sending me yours first) and local members, I'm ready to go and could ship it back out within 24hr's of receiving yours.

For the people currently on my waiting list for core exchange: I will have some ready to go for you within approximatly 1.5 weeks, I will be in touch shortly. Thanks for being patient.

PICS ARE WITHOUT ELBOW DONE! SCROLL WAY DOWN FOR COMPLETED PICS OF THE $325 VERSION.

As you can see, I do this probably better than anyone else, I also spend considerable time smoothing after cutting, as well as 'unshrouding' the runners for cylinders # 5, 6, 2

I meant scream as in power, though there is a slight change in sound also, especially at higher rpms.

I'll gladly do a free install in the parking lot of New-England dyno

Of course And yours I could do at anytime, aka I probably wouldn't swap one on, I would just spend the 6hr's or so doing it to yours.

PM received, I'll talk to you later tonight, I might be getting ahold of an elbow today also, so I will probably be editing this thread and doing it for the $325 w/elbow for everybody.

Also, aaron's peice would definitly be an excellent addition to these, and I'll knock $20 off the price to do a temporary job sealing off the end without polishing it either, I spent alot of time cutting things down off of the outside of the stock one so that it would look 1/2way decent, so it will save me time so that will help you offset the price of the NWP plate also.

I'm also getting Aaron's plate. Would you knock $20 off mine as well?

It's made by Nissan Not exactly many casting flaws to remove, and polishing things on the intake side isn't beneficial anyways Re: Golfball dimple theory, aka laminar airflow boundary layer

325 for a semi polished manifold?

Alright I am not following this I think. 325 gets you a polished outside upper IM and polished elbow. Also, you cut the shelf out of the upper IM? Is there any port and polish work included. If not, can you do it for a set price? Dyno gains? I am interested.

Including cutting out the shelf, it works out to be around $20/hr, my normal shop labor rate is MUCH higher than that. So yes, and what do you mean "Semi polished"? As in the inside isn't polished? Because you should read up on laminar airflow. Google "Boundary layer laminar airflow" and read up on it, basically a smooth polished finish on the intake side of things is no good, rougher is better, only polishing beneficial during port work is to the cumbustion chamber & exhaust ports to reduce carbon build-up. Trust me, I used to port 2-strokes, my screen name has nothing to do with 350Z's.

There isn't much in the way of casting flaws, nothing beneficial to be had except maybe portmatching to the lower but those are fairly spot on as well and gains would still be minimal.

Dyno added, average gains would be 10-12, and please note the tourqe loss.

Altima guys were seeing anywhere from 5-10hp, but for the life of me I can't find the threads and really don't have the time to search anymore.
I was gonna ask you how much to match a ported LIM. It sounds like you jut answered that question. Kev, I'm gonna try to send mine out this week. My son has been sick and I've had to take him to the doctor this week. I should wait until he's felling better. We'll see. You know how those infants are. They get sick easily sometimes. Is there any retrofitting to phenolic spacers after I get it back from you?

What would you charge for an unpolished version? Really only interested in the actual SSIM mod when I do the intake spacers and change plugs.

PM's sent in regards to just the SSIM without polishing, I'll have some updated pictures of what the insides are looking like now also. Basically, $100 w/free shipping if yours is sent to me, or $100 + actual shipping charges + $125 core (will be refunded upon receiving yours back)

Also, if anyone is interested for an additional $75 the SSIM will also include a lower intake manifold, and they will be port matched togethor.

Hahaha, that's awesome! Mine's been sitting in poor shape for about a year or two now, but I've been slowly aquiring parts for it, it's going to be an absolute beast whem it's done, mainly from the 34mm flatslide powerjet's, toomey pipes, and a mild clean-up on the jugs. I'll be running cast pistons, FTW. Man I love two-strokes though, those are my thing, I've done alot of port work on them, actually designed but never built my own expansion chamber for a 50cc one time, that got complex let me tell you. Butyeah man it's funny you recognized the name, over on my350z I laugh because everybody probably thinks it has to do with 350z's. Anyways, we should take this to PM's, I could talk all day about RZ500's, I want one!
