For sale is a factory BOSE HU from my 2002 Max. By no means perfect - suffers from the known and oft-discussed bose issues:
- speaker cut-out: happens from time to time. sometimes all speakers sound good, sometimes after bumps left speakers cut-out. I had done the fix where you take out the ribbon cable a bit a couple of years ago and it was fine for a while. When the problem re-occured, I ordered the ribbon cable to replace but never got to replace it. REPLACEMENT RIBBON CABLE INCLUDED WITH THE HU!
- sometimes the cds skip. some say that is when the HU is cold, I am not sure it is not just random. if you have a bose HU you know what I am talking about.
- the display has had a couple of instances when it turned off when I turn on the lights and it is supposed to dim - instead of dimming, it just turns offs, the HU operates like usual. It happened out of the blue the first time, was like that for a week, then after a week came on again. After a few months, same thing happened. When removed from the car the dimmin function worked fine.

Again, it is a BOSE and has all the BOSE issues. Radio works fine and I used FM modulator to get my MP3 to the HU. Would have probably kept this set up if I had not gotten the bug for HD radio, which pushed to change the HU. Price for HU + ribbon cable is $50 + shipping cost ( I guess that should be around $10...)
