Grounding kit for audio systems
I am now offering for the 5th and 5.5 Gen a kit more in the vain of the "Big Three" kit which emphasizes more efficient operation of the Alternator and main engine ground. I am offering the kit in 4 gauge for $70 without the fuse for the hot lead from the positive Alt to the positive battery post or $87 with a MIDI Fuse rated at 125A. I have run a hot lead wire in my car for almost two years without a fuse without incident so it is only for those who want that extra bit of confidence. Here are the mount points for this kit.
5th/5.5 Gen Kit (Auto, 5-speed or 6-speed)
Battery to chassis Ground
Starter to chassis Ground
Timing Chain Cover to Chassis
Neg Alternator to Chassis
Positive Alternator to Positive
This kit will especially help those with high wattage aftermarket Stereo systems by creating a better flow of electricity though the alternator in addition to the already documented benefits of a ground kit below:
As for the benefit of the kit. For auto transmissions you will notice that the car is no longer resistant to downshifting. This means that the car is more responsive when punch on the gas as the tranny will respond quicker. Also when you slow down to a slow roll the car will downshift appropriately instead of staying in high gear and quickly shifting down. The shifts are also smoother and in general more "precise" feeling. Idle and high speed rev are smoother and I noticed that the power band actually smoothed out a bit as well whereas before the kit it would seem the car was gasping post 5000 rpm it pulls a bit harder at rpm now (not a earth shattering difference but a mildly noticeable one). The car starts a little faster and stronger. The auxiliary electrical equipment like power windows, power seats move faster and lights all around are a bit brighter especially the headlights.
The kits are still made with Stinger Wire and are available in these colors:
Translucent Black

Crimson Red

Clear Silver

Clear Carbon Grey
