Old thread bump. I bought a motor mount kit for a 1997 Maxima GXE. The kit's front mount is wired but the same mount on the car is not.

Can the wired mount work as a replacement for the non-wired mount?

TIA!

First, your post is related to the 4th gen Maxima, and we're in the 5th gen forum. Doh!

Something is off about what you received. Only 4th gen Maxima GLE's and Auto SE's have electronic motor mounts. GXE is the base model, and never had electronic motor mounts. With that said, your GXE kit shouldn't have a wire for the front mount. But to answer your question, yes, the wired mount will work just fine. Either cut the wire off or ziptie it somewhere.

Shoot - I replied to the wrong thread. I had a few open tabs for the search. In any event, thank you for the reply.
My net searches, including AI answers, were contradictory: some searches claimed the mounts were interchangeable and some claimed the opposite. One result suggested you could swap a non-wired mount into a car with the wired hydraulic mount while another said neither were interchangeable because the mounting holes were different, which didn't make sense to me. A shop didn't think the hydraulic mount would work properly in a car without the system adjusting the pressure for driving conditions. I'm still waiting for the seller of the kit to respond.

Seller (parts house) advised me to exchange the mount for the correct one.
