2002 Interior

This will probably sound like an really stupid question:

What parts of the interior are leather? Just got my 2002 and I have never had leather interior before. I am getting ready to clean the interior and am not completely sure on certain parts.

Specifically:
center part of side doors (looks like leather)
consol top (does not look like leather)
dash (does not look like leather)
steering wheel is leather wrapped, right? use leather conditioner?

My real question is on which parts do you use McGwires #40, and which do I use the Lexol conditioner?

Re: 2002 Interior

The only parts that are 'real' leather are the parts of the seats that touch your body when you are sitting in them. Plus the stearing wheel.
The center console arm rest, the door inserts, the seats sides and backs of the seats are imitation leather.

personally i wouldnt reccomend conditioning the steering wheel because the oils might make your hands slippery which could lead to accident... i use turtle wax leather cleaner/conditioner and it made my steering wheel quite slick

just a few words of advice

I did the same. Put some liquid leather cleaner on the steering wheel and when I was turning, my hand slipped and I almost hit the car next to me.

I thought they were real leather as well. The only difference being that they are backed by something like cardboard.

JMax is absolutely 100% correct. If you still have doubts, even the brochure lists the option as: Leather-APPOINTED seats, and SIMULATED Leather door trim.

Double that. I did read in the brochure that the door trim is SIMULATED LEATHER. Oh well.

The only real way to tell which parts are leather, is to.... sleep on the leather seats NAKED.... I did this & let me tell you that all pieces that touch your NAKED body (or clothed, if you preffer) are REAL leather. It's kinda sick, really if you think about it. Being in the backseat all, naked... rubbing your body against a DEAD NAKED COW... *YUCK*

That's why I stopped doing it... cause it started to FREAK me out!

And now I've stopped eating burgers, too...

I think you gave us a little too much detail in what you do in your private life...

No, no.. that's fine too... leather can take the bean-breakfast-bombing! No problem... just don't do it when you're naked, cause you never know what could happen back there!
