Has anyone gauged how DIFFICULT it would be to change the sparkplugs on the ohter side of the engine? (against the firewall?)

It is not really as hard as you might think. You use a 8mm socket to remove the 2 screws holding the coil assembly. Pull off the assembly (you'll need to unplug its electrical harness) remove plug put in new one. The 2 nearest the passenger side are easy and straight forward. The last one nearest the driver'side is blocked, so you use a 12mm socket to remove 2 nuts and move the bracket out of the way. You remove the 2 8mm bolts, pull off coil assembly (you'll need to unplug its electrical harness)and remove and replace plug. I normally replace each coil assembly, 8mm bolts and electrical connector as I replace each individual plug. On the last plug you'll also have to replace the bracket and 2 12mm nuts. When you do the front bank of plugs you have to take Nissan Name tag off, this takes about as long as it does to remove and replace bracket on rear bank of plugs. So each bank takes about the same amount of time. First time you do it, it will take 30 - 40 minutes. After that you'll be doing it in under 30 minutes easy! Dealer would probably charge you $40 and up to do what you just did, Hey if you do it yourself you saved enough to pay for the NGK Platium Plugs you just installed. Save yourself some grief and only use the NGK plugs. If your are mad at yourself put in BOSCH Platinum Plugs so you can enjoy the fun of putting in new plugs again in 7,000 miles. Your call!
Be well!!!!
