Touchup paint???
Touchup paint???
Ok heres the situation,
I just bought a 2002 Grey Lustre Maxima Se back in January, I already have a couple of chips in the paint (some my fault, some a mystery) I was wondering if touchup paint is a good idea, if anything just to prevent rust spreading from the chips.
And if it is a good idea, would you happen to know a good website where I could order the touchup paint from??? I searched a couple already and they don't seem to have my color
Thanks, any info would be much appreciated

Touchup paint works ok, but only for small scratches/areas. The best place to get the paint from is your local dealer, this way you can ensure a perfect match. Just try it in a hidden area (under trunk area is good) to make sure it is the right color in the bottle (have heard stories..) It is only like $5 for a tube which is enough to cover plenty of scratches, and follow the directions, brush in one direction, lightly, after wiping excess on edge of bottle.

Don't expect an exact match though. It won't hide the chips, but might prevent moisture and corrosion eating into the chip and rust forming.

.. Covers up nothing !
Touch up paint looks like crap. At least it protects from rusting, but it doesn't blend in very well. One thing you might consider trying with the touch-up paint is Langka. It's supposed to smooth the paint out so you don't get the blotch from the touch-up paint. I don't know of anyone who's used it. Be a first and let us know if it works.

www.paintscratch.com has the best touch up paint
That's exactly my problem- the Sterling Mist touch up looks like a true SILVER more than anything else. And when the light hits it, it's OBVIOUS that it is nowhere near the same color as the rest of the car.
