It was posted some time ago the clear rear side marker on the driver's side has some type of leak which allows moisture to entire the side marker assembly. My driver's side rear, clear side marker collects moisture, evident by the drops of moisture in the assembly visible from casual viewing.

Has anybody noticed their red bulb on that side to move from a true pinkish shade to a more whitish-pinkish shade, almost entirely white? I will say I wash my car once per week, potentially adding to the amount of moisture which could collect if there is a bona-fide leak.

Somebody mentioned drilling a hole to allow moisture to escape. Has this worked?

At this point, I am going to assume moisture has reached the red bulb in there and messed it up. I suppose I will need to change the bulb to stay out of trouble with the law; however, I would like to rectify the problem by fixing the assembly so this doesn't happen again.

Thoughts?

I don't believe a solution was posted. Recently, I haven't had any problems with condensation inside the marker. Maybe it's a summer/winter thing for me?

I've got the same problem, mdeal . . .

But I'm using bright white bulbs instead of red. No problem with fading of course and the cops haven't bothered me yet. How long the bulb will last remains to be seen.

The condensation in my driver's side lens comes and goes. The weather's been dry in So. Cal. for awhile so no condensation. But it changed recently and condensation is starting to appear in the lens again.

i have another small problem w/ the clear markers on the drivers side...along w/ the condensation, my bulb keeps burning out. (so far it has happened twice, but at the moment i have a burnt out bulb in there)...this only happens on the drivers side rear clear...i have different bulbs in the rear clears, front (if you put dark red bulbs in the front orange side markers, it lights the entire thing up red at night and you see no orange), license plate lights, headlights, foglights, turn sigs/parking lights, interior dome light, interior reading light, interior door lights, and my trunk light and that is the only bulb that burns out...i've heard of people getting it rewired...how much does that cost and where should i go to have it done? (nissan dealer?) the first time i noticed it was burnt out, i took my rear clear off and discovered a completely fried bulb...the entire outside of this bulb was black like it had been in a fire and when put upto a light, you couldn't see through it at all...the second time it just burned out like normal

one more thing...i have blue xenon (no name brand) h4 headlights in...i have had them for about 5 months and just recently, the second filament on one of the bulbs burned out...how can this happen on a xenon gas charged bulb? the normal driving lights work fine but i only have 1 bright now...oh well, i'm planning on getting piaa plasma's...before i got these blue bulbs, i had piaa superwhites (the legal ones) and traded them in after 2 days because i didn't like them...they are supposed to be "just like xenons" but in all actuality, there is barely any purple. real xenons look purple whereas these were bright, but were just white...i want(ed) something that stands out...can anyone give me feedback on the piaa plasmas? people advertise them on ebay as saying they have a color coating over the first filament so it is very purple/blue in color

i tried to remove my headlight bulbs the other day and couldn't...what am i doing wrong? i tried twisting them both ways, pulling them out, and slowly inching it back, but nothing worked...is there a trick to removing the headlights? i did all of the bulb changing in my car except for the headlights and i can't figure out how to get them out...any suggestions?

The re-wire you are speaking of, I believe, is changing the turn signal wiring to make the rear side marker blink at the same time.

Are you trying to remove headlight bulb or the entire headlight assembly?

Doesn't surprise me that your driver's side bulb is burning out, MrBurner . . .

That hasn't happened to me yet, but I don't do a lot of night driving either. Still, if condensation is getting inside the lens, it's also getting to the bulb. Not a good thing.

i am just trying to get the headlight bulb out...i know it can be done because the guy that originally put in my blue headlight bulbs did it...when you open the hood, the entire bulb assembly is covered by a big black rubber piece and i try to wiggle it around and turn it w/ no luck

The manual is garbage as far as telling you on how to do something as simple as changing a headlight bulb....I went through the same crap as you on trying get the headlight out...its really simple once you figure it out. Squeeze both sides of the black connecter(the part that plugs into the back of the bulb) Pull straight back...thats it! I was twisting , pulling without pinching etc....

Once you pull the connecter off, just pull the rubber seal off. Once that is off there is a wire thingy holding the bulb in...pinch them together and pull back a little to clear the metal piece that keeps tension on the bulb an then pull the bulb out.

Just reverse things when you put the new bulbs back in.

Hope that helps
