Installing the 2k SE tail lights

I've gotten a set of used 2k SE tail lights and want to put them on my car but looking at the explanation found on 5thgenmaxima.com i noticed it says you need some sort of sealer that looks like it rolls off kinda like tape. If i wanted to go to a car parts store what would i ask for to make sure i get the right kind?

I've done a search to try to find the answer but couldn't find it!

Thanks

I just talked to the people over at Tustin Nissan when ordering my fog lights and they told me just to get DumDum rubber sealer so i guess my question is answered.

Thanks for the offer Ms. Thickness

if theyre used, they probably still got leftover sealant on them. that along with what sticks to your car should be sufficient. i just heated up the sealant before insterting the lamp.

just did mine

i just did se tails and they already had some on there and i just used one thin bead around the light. if you use too much it will be hard to push the light in and get it to seat correct. just be patient and work with it.

p.s. if you get any of that goop on your car, lights , or hands , use turtle bug/tar remover to get it off. it works wonders.

When you take off your stock lights try and use the existing sealer. I did that (along with some that came with my GXE/GLE lights). Don't forget when taking off the tail lights to use a hair dryer and heat up the edges to make it easier to pull out the lights. Otherwise, you will need A LOT of force to pry those things out. The hair dryer made it much easier.

I just changed mine a few weeks ago. I think you can find the tape at an auto glass shop. Where I live it rains ALOT, so there was no shortcuts taken. I used the tape that came with the lights with the leftover guck that was on there. I say, the more the marrier, I don't want my truck to start leaking.
