Clear or smoked tails, suggestions.

G'day,

I'm gonna rip off these red tails this weekend and can get the smoked or clear tails in replacement from my dealer, but I don't know which would be more stylin on a gray lustre ride. Any suggestions? Gotta order tomorrow to get them by Sat. Thanks

Keep the Red

Keep the red lights man. Those are a lot better than the smoked tails. I don't know how dark your gray color is on your car, but I would go with clear only if your car is dark. Smoked tails with a gray might not look as great.

Many people say the clear tails look like ricer tail lights, but i like them on dark cars. My Max is gold so I am sticking with the red.

Hope this helps.

IMHO, I like to see contrast between my car and tails. On light cars, the smoked tails look awesome. On dark cars, the clear tails provide contrast and look awesome. I don't like the red tails.

Much thanks guys, I agree about the smoked on light cars, very sweet. The gray lustre is one step from black. A dark metallic charcoal I'd say. I'll order em up. 200 for the set is pretty alright isn't it?

first of all:

the dealer will rip you off, try dave b. 1-800-251-7278 or robert @extreme nissan 1-866-233-0334 for pricing on the tails.

second: IMO the clears are going to go out of style in a couple of years ,cuz every car maker is coming out with them on newer cars/trucks. so this is not "new/different" anymore. everybody has them and your not set apart from everybody. so that is why i went with the SE tails, and because i got them from M.Atalla for 120 shipped, thanks again Michael!!!

don't pay more than 200 at the dealer.

IMO the 2002 taillights look better. That's the "clear" or "silver" or whatever you wanna call them.

yeah they are nice its just that IMHO the clears really look nice on light colored cars and the smoked out ones look great on darker cars. but i guess it all depends on the person

Smoked looks better on any color, whether it be light or dark IMHO... But hey, it's YOUR car, so YOU should go see a Max with reds and another with smoked on the same color as your car, so that you can make the decision that way..

I've got to agree with Dario. Further, I had also thought about the body colored paint idea. Here's the thing: the big red lights provide no definition for the lights. They look like big red blobs. Whether you go clear or smoked.... or body colored... the car looks better when the lights themselves are defined. I prefer smoked on dark colors, clear on light colors.

Damn, i was about to post for you, why you gotta post? j/p yea, SMOKED is what irvine has.. tinted is what the 2k-2k1 SE has.. and clear/altezzas(!!!) is what the 2k2's have. But smoked looks the best.
