UPDATE! Warpspeed 2k2 Y & B Pipes

Well, I'm more so looking for an update myself... I'm supposed to test them, and neither I nor the other guy who is supposed to be a test has heard from Dallas regarding status or ETA's.

Does anyone know anything about how things stand with these parts?

Things sit around with parts from WarpSpeed. They don't stand!

What deception, Tanman? The only people being deceived are those waiting around for 5th Gen Y-pipes from WarpSpeed . . . unless WarpSpeed has started shipping them. If that's the case, I'm unaware of it.

His title is deceptive. If he's the one asking for updates, he should have made the title "Updates?" .

I've been told by Warpspeed that they "hope" to have 5th gen Y-pipes shipping within "a couple weeks" after the prototypes are approved.

I'm conviced that all aftermarket companies that make products for the Maxima measure time in dog years or something. One week = 7 months or something.

We've been pretty fortunate that there actually are any aftermarket companies for our family car. Companies like Stillen, Custommaxima, Jimwolf, Cattman, aren't making a whole lot of money because there really isn't a huge market for aftermarket family car parts. We should be thankful that companies are making parts for us, and understand that the R&D involved in making a part might not be worth it for the 50 units they might sell.

Getting off my soapbox now... .

Excellent point. My friend has a '99 Taurus SHO, and you would think that being a domestic 'high performance' (by someones standards) car would have a ton of aftermarket performance options - but we can't find squat for it, not even from Ford Motorsports. So yes - we are fortunate that companies are investing time and effort into such a family/luxury SEDAN. I suspect the market will only continue to grow for us, as this engine is the basis for so many of Nissan's products.

I called stillen about that and they said they had to do some minor tweaks to it before it can fit the maxima.

A muffler/exhaust shop probably can tweak it for you (or you can do them yourself since they're "minor"). Want to be a guinea pig?

www.shoshop.com They don't have alot of stuff for the lame V8 motor in the 99, but there is a ton of stuff for the 3L Yamaha motor. Stroker kits and all.
