Could someone tell me in which year did the variable air intake became available on a 5th Gen. Max?

Is it worth while getting an aftermarket intake if you already have variable air intake?

all 2k and up have the variable length intake runners. these are after the throttle body and have nothing to do with the intake itself. they just have optimized runner lengths for separate RPMs. buy an aftermarket intake (I like Berk ) and you'll get more air flowing through those variable length runners...
