Another Bose question?

Is the sub crossed over by the amp? What wire colors are what going to the sub? I was going to try a 10" JL Audio sub on the factory amp.

The amp is inside the speaker. You need to add an external amp.

Nope, the amp is to the right of the subwoofer if you are looking at it when you open the trunk from the outside.

The wires coming out of the amp are low level leads, not speaker leads. There is a separate amp within the Bose speaker for the Bose sub. The amp you are referring to in the trunk is for the entire system.

I just had the local audio shop install an external amp for me. I just got home to see how they wired it up. I am not a stereo expert. Looks like they disabled the Bose Sub, but the new sub doesn't come on until I start the car. Any ideas what they might have done?

Since the wiring coming out is a low level lead, all they had to do is splic on some RCA's to the green and black wires (if I remember correctly. Could be wrong on the colors).

I actually kept the Bose sub AND the 12" Punch. Sounds nice...
