tire question
#1
I'm sure someone asked this before but I couldn't find it. I have the 16in rims that came with my GLE. And this car hates turns. What can I do to upgrade the tires? Can I go wider and if so, how much more wider? I wouldn't mind going to the 17in rims (when I have the cash) but how big of a tire can I put?
Also, I think for how I drive my max, it has enough power. Whats the one biggest thing I can do to make my car turn better?
thanks guys/gals

If you are sticking with the stock rims, the maximum size I would go is 225/50/16. Sumitomo HTRZ2's are a good buy, should run you like 110 a pc. If you want to spend a little more, I would recommend the Pirelli 7000 SS.

It depend on the size of your rims, if you go 17X7.5 I would recommend 235/45/17. If you are going with the 8" width, you can probably get away with the 245's without rubbing.

Get yourself a RSB. Its the one suspension component that you can really feel with a minimum investment. Stillen or Addco carry one for our car.
Hope this would help.

Thanks for the idea. I'm not into alot of car lingo. I could never see how adding a FSB would help. Doesn't seem like it would allow me to turn better.
Is t something like a anti-roll bar? but goes on top if you know what I mean?

RSB= Rear stabilizer bar(AKA rear anti sway bar)
They both go underneath the car.
The one that goes under the hood is called FSTB
Front strut tower bracing. That tighten up your frontend, thrus reduces body flex.
But you ask for ONE thing, and I can tell you RSB is the ONE thing you can really feel.

Oh and just so I know I understand you correctly, you think I sould get a larger RSB over slightly wider tires for better handling?

Yes they will provide considerable improvement over stock units.
