Occasionally not starting

This may be a dumb question so bare with me.
I have an 2K auto with 36K. The problem is that every once in a while I turn the key and expect to hear that noise (which I believe is fuel being delivered to the engine, i could be wrong) but I don't hear it. Sure enough when I don't hear it the car turns over but never starts. This has now happened a handful of times (once with the remote starter) and I want to fix it.
She is still under warranty and I could bring it to the dealer but I rather get some insight from here before doing so.
I read a lot here but rarely post.
Thanks for any help.

any clicks? or when u turn the key, it is just dead silent?

could be the computer having delayed to recognized the chip in the key...either put ur key in the key hole for 5 seconds then turn it..or try other keys.

also...

clicks? like from one position to the other? yes, I hear those.
to combat the problem I usually pull the key and wait like 10 seconds and then it starts.
If i just try to start it again right after it wouldn't start (did i say that right?) it just turns over but doesn't start.
Any more thoughts???
C'mon, I know this must have happened to one of you!

actually...

most of us have had intermittant hard starting. its fuel related. Please give search a try, we have discussed it at length and there is good info in the old posts.

search in the 5th gen only for 'starting' (and maybe 'hard')
