Just be prepared to have some quiet intakes, for you Injen users... I have driven 2 2K2's with Injen's..and they are 90 % quieter than the Franekn Midpipe / Berk..... that might be good or bad for some.... It's your choice !

Good for me, once I can afford it.

No intake, yet. Considering Injen. Concerned about the MAF problems that I am reading about.

No intake here...

'cuz:

1. don't want to deal with potential MAF issues...

2. don't think the so-called performance gains are worth it...

3. don't think a car like the Max should have a loud sound of any kind...

Include me out.

I certainly understand why some of you like to mod your Maximas, and I support your efforts. But after reading a few threads lately about failures, warranty problems and near shoot outs at a some dealerships, and after reading about those of you who have been challenged by law enforcement regarding mods deemed illegal, I’m glad I’m still strictly stock (OK, so I did add splash guards, but that’s as far as I go).

Do I have an intake: YES
Is it sitting in the garage because everytime I put it on I blow a MAF a couple weeks later: YES

The first time it happened to me I said OK its just a bad MAF.
I had to put my stock back on to get it warrantied. I kept the stock on for a couple months then decided to put the intake back on cuz I think the growl and 1-2 hp it gives at high RPM's so I do that and then the sensor blows again...it's staying off for good now.

I agree with Magellan. Just too much hassle to deal with for the gain that you get. Don't want to put all the stock stuff back on whenever I take it to the dealer for warranty work-yes I did get the six year extended warranty. I do not like the sound-way too loud. I'll keep my mods to handling and looks.

No, I do not have an intake b/c i've heard too many stories about dealerships giving problems regarding them, and heard tons of people having problems with their MAFs. Plus my Uncle, who's a mechanic told me they aren't worth it b/c they don't do anything good for the car's engine. He was all for me getting a FSTB and RSB though. Oh well, I think i'll live without one.

A 6-10 hp gain isn't worth it?!?!?! For less than $100? And yes, those numbers HAVE been dynoed (just not by me).

Open the hood, look at your stock airbox and inlet and tell me how in the world air is supposed to circulate through there.

And your uncle is high if he claims that an intake can't help your engine. The more air, the better your car performs.

Re: Re: Who here does NOT have an intake?

I'd have to agree w/ Magellan also.

I want to get one bad, but I'm just too scared! I currently have a pop-in K&N, and it probably does very little, but I did notice an ever-so-slight sound difference at WOT. For now, I'm satisfied.

No Thanks.

Bone stock 2K2 SE auto. If I didn't like the performance, I would have gotten another car. Besides, I like the stealth approach when I have to prove a point to some schmuck who thinks his rice mobile can take on a VQ35!

I'll spend my money on where it counts... tires, RSB, FSTB, and springs. This way, I can hang with the best of them.
