Would you trade?

Received a great deal on a loaded 2002 Volvo S80, black clearcoat with grey leather interior. I have a 2001 Maxima SE AE
Would you consider trading? wait for the new Maxima? trade for another car? Thanks

How much more are you paying? And how old are you? Volvo's are for the "mature" crowd.

Yeah, Andy and I will keep our "immature" Maximas.

Volvo's --- boxy, but good.

It's kinda sad, Volvo has finally shed their stodgy image -- and aquired a trouble prone, yet exciting one (gonna get flak for this, but check Consumer Reports). The new S80 and S60 look pretty cool, but they're not really a complete package -- kinda like the Max, I guess. Great engine in need of a really good suspension.

I have a friend who has a new S80 T6. The car rocks!! Acceleration beyond belief. The car is quiet, responsive but a little boxy still. Safety out the ying-yang. Nice ride.

Does it make financial sense? You may be "upside down" on your Max, or basically owe more than it's worth. Of course, that depends on how you paid for it, but perhaps it does't make sense to get rid of the Maxima right now. Something to think about.

Are you looking into modding the Volvo, or is it just a mode of transportation(a pretty sweet one)? Is there really a big aftermarket for Volvos? I know are Maximas don't get the support we all want it to get, but at least we got something, and the market is getting bigger for our cars. If you are considering a new car, why not a G35? If you don't really need the four doors, 350Z? Or if you need four seats, wait for the G35 coupe?

By the way, Stang Guy.. it looks like you got the best of both worlds, 02 Max and 01 TL-S. And of course, we can't forget about your domestic, the 68 Stang!

Thanks 8702 - I'm lucky my wife enjoys a powerful car too, otherwise we'd have a Maxima, a Mustang, and a Civic (since the CL-S is hers)! The Mustang gives a great reality check as far as just how far performance has come in the last 30 years. Back in the 60's, it was ***** out, hairy chested performance. Today, you can get great performance with great gas mileage too, not to mention luxury as well. We've come a long way, but there's nothing like a big loud V8 under the hood

It doesn't get much more hairy-chested than a WS6! My Mustang is "only" in the 13's, with a best ET of 13.1 @ 104 on a naturally aspirated Ford Motorsport Cobra 5.0 block with some goodies.

It's been a while since I took it out.......think I might head out for a drive
