Mann, it was awful! I just pulled into a Target shopping center parking spot directly in front of a Majestic Blue 2002 SE, and being that my headlights were on, I saw paint chips GALORE! All over the front bumper, a few here and there on the hood, some more by the fog lamps.....it was NOT pretty. For the past month since I've come to this forum, I've read alot of complaints about the poor paint quality of nissan, but I never looked close enough until now.
I've been fortunate so far with my 2001 Altima SE, with the exception of a small rust spot about an inch and a half wide on my drivers side passenger door, but still! I want to get a Max soon, but looking at those paint chips really has me holding off, and observing what goes on here before I buy. If everyone here gets compensated with a paint over (not from MAACO) from Nissan NA, then I can move foward, but until then, I may just put off for a little while longer...........
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!! I CAN'T TAKE THIS!!!

I just got my car 2 1/2 weeks ago. It has just broken 1000 miles. I was washig the car yesterday, and saw 3 or 4 tiny little chips already.
Should I use touchup paint? Or will that be ugly, as I've heard it doesn't match my glacier pearl...

just do what i did. hit a deer at 70 MPH and have the whole front end replaced.
2400 miles before the deer with Nissan paint = lots of paint chips
3200 miles after the deer with "other" paint = not a single one.

Its funny, but one of my mom's friend's husband's hit a deer with his 97 altima, and if that wasn't bad enough, to add insult to injury, he got out and KICKED IT!
Ya just can't make this stuff up!
Don't know if he got a new bumper though
