New Maxima Owner

Just purchased an '03 Maxima GLE Majestic Blue yesterday. Traded my 99 Cougar in for the Maxima. I'm currently looking for mods and accessories and interesting information on the Maxima. I was quite active in the Cougar groups and forums, actually I'm still a moderator of one of the groups.

Totally looking forward to getting to know the Maxima and what kind of cool things I can do with my car. And I'm also still looking forward pulling up next to a cougar and smokin' him at the light.

why don't you try doing a search - there are a lot of active/current threads about most popular mods and etc - have fun

Congrats on the purchase. The first thing you'll need to do is get used to the massive power difference...

. I'm not sure about the Cougars aftermarket, but the 2K2-03 Maximas are kinda limited right now. Here are a few options....
1) Intakes....you can either go with the traditional 'short ram' by frankencar.com (member of this site) or berktuning.com (also a member). Just in the past few months Injen has released a genuine CAI for us that everyone is raving about.

2) Y-pipe...These are the big (approx. 15-18whp) hp givers on previous year Maximas. While no one can really estimate how much of a gain they'll give a 2K2 (they aren't out yet), it'll be pretty good I bet. I *think* some companies will have them out in a couple of months.

3) Custom catbacks...Not too sure about these. Some guys buy mufflers just for the sound, I dont know of any definitive hp/tq increases for these on our cars.

4) Crank pullye....Made by Unorthodox Racing, most guys who have these really fave about them.

5) Suspension....There are front strut tower bars, rear sway bars, springs, shocks, subframe connectors, etc. Just do a search on any of those words.
