Those with Injen CAI

Did any of you that had this installed have a problem with the where the cone sits? I could barely get the thing on. I searched and couldn't find anything. Maybe I have the wrong second piece of the intake? Thanks for any help.

Please elaborate on the problem you had...maybe we can help. Was the problem where the filter sits after installation or getting the filter onto the tubing or something else entirely?

Sorry, where the filter sits in the engine. Theres like a metal bar and a screwn or somethin that is right where the filter sits. The only way I can get the filter onto the tube is by pushing one side of the filter in a ways. I dont want to do this unless this is how its supposed to be.

You have a 2K/2K1, right? I had no issues like you point out. The filter sits close to some other items but does not contact anything when just attached normally onto the end of the tubing. Clears everything by an inch or two minimum.

Try this...loosen all of the joints a bit and just push everything around a bit. Since there are two joints in the middle, plus the joint on the throttle-body, there is a lot of different ways to make the intake sit in the car. I did a lot of pushing and pulling before I was happy where it was sitting.

I think I just got the wrong second tube of the intake, cuz my bracket doesn't align either. I'll have to contact Injen I guess and get it replaced. Thanks for all the help!

They may have sent you the 2K2 intake instead of the 2K1.

Just a question..not hating.

How can the Injen be considered a true CAI if the air filter still resides in the engine compartment (from what I can see)?

ummm it sits right above the splash guard on the bottom of the front bumper. I would not consider that residing in the engine bay.
