It's official, I'm finally a Maxima owner

Well guys, after all my lurking, reading posts, researching, etc etc.. I am finally a 2k2 6spd Maxima owner. I'm overwhelmed with excitement. In the spirit of Irvine and Kloogy, I bought the Glacier Pearl color.

Woohoo!

Good choice! First major mod: new rims and tires.

Might want to hold off on that intake. Don't know if they've fixed the faulty MAF problems yet.

Hey guys! THanks for the warm welcome.

First mods I'm thinking I'll do is front and rear sway bar, window tint, and i'll have to do research on some of the under the hood bolt-ons as i'm not quite sure about all of them yet. I also am goign to work on version 2.0 of my carpc. You all may have seen my pics from the dodge intrepid. Anyway. Thanks again for the warm welcome.

I look forward to driving it .. A LOT.

Congrats on your purchase. You don't need a front sway bar. You need a front strut brace, a rear sway bar, and within a year, springs.. maybe an intake too and then exhaust. you're gonna enjoy owning that car

Don't you just love that color, with all the little sparklies (as the chicks call 'em) in the paint!

your new maxima!

just some advice, you may want to keep your car stock in the break in period, and then add rims, intake etc. i still only have about 400 miles on my 6 spd and wont touch anything mechanical untill 1000 miles

Hey don't forget about me...I got an 02 SE Glacier Pearl about 3 weeks ago too. Good choice on color!
I'm installing my FSTB and RSB this Sunday. Wish me luck...can't wait to feel the results for myself, after hearing everybody's recommendations!

Be prepared to remove any after-market modifications when taking your car to Nissan for warranty work. I've been trying to get a clunking noise in the front of the car fixed and they had a hissy-fit when they saw the FSTB on my car. I removed the FSTB and they still were trying to blame the noise on the now non-existent brace!

They even said the dreaded "it will void your warranty" phrase while I was trying to get them to buy into the problem.

I realize not all dealerships are like this. You might want to chat with the service department where you bought the car to see how they feel about the modifications you want to perform.

Wow so many replies while I was gone. I've heard the same thing about bolt-on's about it depending on your dealership's service dept. I'll chat with them before I start doing any mods. I also heard its best to wait till its breakin period is over as well. You say around 4000 miles? or is it less (i hope its less). For now I think i'll be satisfied with getting the windows tinted and starting on my audio/video/gps/voice system.

As for the price, I got it for 23000 before my downpayment, 17222 after downpayment. It had 475 miles on it when I purchased it, its pretty basic SE, no leather, no sunroof, and no bose (which iddn't care about) other than that, was exactly what I wanted. So I'm extremely happy, i got a great deal and a great car.

I am however concerned with how short the gears are. I'm revving it to 4k rpm before i know it, I"ll hvae to get used to shifting quicker, I'm very slow on that.

Thanks again for the warm welcome
