I installed H&R springs and tokico struts on my 5th gen SE on Friday and I have noticed a squeaking sound coming from the rear wheel wells. The sound is obvious whenever I go over bumps in the road. The term "squeak" may be misleading as the sound is low in pitch. What is causing this; are the coils rubbing together? Will the sound go away once the springs settle?

 

Might be the addco, check with Newman. Sounds like the same problem we had with his!!!!

 

OK, I pinpointed the noise. The "moaning" sound is coming from the rear right strut tower. Does anyone have an idea of how to resolve this problem?

 

i have a squeak in my rear passenger side and i took it to the shop and found out the my stock strut was leaking. the stock strut didn't even last a day with the maxspeeds.

 

Its probably more simple than you think. Most likely a bolt not tight enough. Had same sound and went back to my friends house to make sure everything was alright. We didn't do the backs tight enough to torque and thats what was causing the sounds. The bolts i'm talking about is the hard one to stay in the center between the two other bolts. After fixing, no more sound
