Cold air is no doubt but the best intake IMO
but if you don't want cold air.
I highly recommend getting a JWT pop charger from courtesy. Around 130 with tax or shipping.

Here's your web site, speedracer . . .

I don't see that there's any particular advantage in the Weapon-R intake. I'd recommend you stay with the tried and true solutions: Stillen Intake, JWT Popcharger, or Place Racing Cold Air Intake.

I seem to remember someone running a dyno test on his Maxima first running a Stillen Intake (or JWT Popcharger) with the hood closed and then running a Place Racing CAI. There was practically no difference in the results. I guess that once the vehicle starts moving, air circulation under the hood eliminates any problem with engine heat getting to the intake.

You can purchase a JWT Popcharger from Phuong for $122.00 including shipping. Contact him at gr_racing@yahoo.com.

There doesn't appear to be much difference between the popcharger and CAI on the 5th gens.

Speedy, I suggest you don't give in the manufactur's claims about gains w/ the intake. They are usually bs. Plus if I remember correctly, the weapon R uses a foam element, which might be good for flow but is absolutely crappy for dirt particle filtration. It doesn't even look like they use oil to help trap dirt. Up to you, good luck

There's a local car club, mostly Hondas and a few DSMs, that I help out on installs on occasion. For some reason, the majority of these guys are running the WeaponR intake systems which aren't the greatest in quality. First, the MAF adapter is basically a silicone piece which attaches the two with a hose clamp.. very flimsy. Second, the air filter is small and does not fully utilize the total space available. If you look at the JWT/Stillen filters, they are fat and wide so that they fully utilize the space where the stock air box once resided. The generic filters have 30-40% less surface area when compared to the JWT/STillen intakes; less surface area = less air being sucked in. SPend the extra few bucks and avoid the generic cones.
