Can a HLSD be added to a 2k2 6sp

Wanted to see if anyone knows if a HLSD helical limited slip differential can be added to a 2k2 or 2k3 6sp manual and if so an approximate cost.

Well the HLSD was a $400 option on the 2k2. It will probably cost much more than that if bought OTC. The standard case probably wont accept it either so you'll probably have to buy that too. All the VLSD cars from nissan had a much larger bearing race than the non VLSD cars. Thats why I am assuming the HLSDs are the same. It can be done but expect to spend between $500 to $1000 rough guess. I bet Dave B could give you an exact cost on such a project.

HLSD is an acronym for Helical Limited Slip Differential.
It is the newest technology as far as limited slips are concerned. It uses helical cut worm gears to differentiate torque between the axles. So you got get the peg leg effect or the one wheel wonder.
Other types of limited slips are the traditional clutch type (oldest)and the viscous coupling (newer than clutch type)
