Transverse Link Recall 01-02?
Transverse Link Recall 01-02?
ANYBODY ELSE GET A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL? SEEMS TRANSVERSE LINK MAY BREAK WHERE IT IS MOUNTED TO FRAME. IF YOU HAVE A KNOCKING SOUND DO NOT IGNORE, NISSAN IS SAYING CALL DEALER IMMEDIATELY AND TOW VEHICLE TO DEALER? I WENT BY DEALER AND THEY WILL REPLACE LINKS BUT TAKES 5 HOURS TO DO.

What years/models does this recall apply to? At least what did it exactly say when you received it? Why only 01-02 and not 00-03? Just curious?

Information was in the form of a letter from Nissan Of North America and states " This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Nissan has determined that a defect that relates to motor vehicle safety exists in some 2001 and 2002 model year Nissan maxima vehicles."

My car was affected by the recall. I purchased the car AFTER the recall had already been out. Shouldn't the dealer have performed the recall work before selling the car? They never even notified me of it, or sent me any letter. I only knew about it b/c of being on Maxima.org. I had to contact them, and after checking it out, then they realized my car was affected by it. Isn't there some kind of liability issue there?
Dealership didn't perform the re-call cause when people ask and the dealership responds with "Yeah,we did it", the customer thinks there B.S'ing them. I don't think the dealership would be held liable. I got my noticed from the dealership less than 2 weeks ago. I called Nissan and they came up with some bull crap story that I won't get into.
