Did anyone else catch that article? Compares the BMW 325, IS300, Saab 9-3, Volvo S70?, Mercedes c240, and Audi S4?

Made me feel good about buying a Max 5spd SE for as much as 15k less than the test cars. Although the Max is not in the same "class" as these sport sedans, from my reading it stacks up very well.

My thoughts, for anyone who cares, are thatit would have ended up in the middle of that pack - quite an accomplishment.

Performance wise, it would have been the leader of the pack in both 0-60 and the 1/4(Volvo T5 was very close). No slolam was done but I'd bet it would be in the middle of the pack in handling. For certain, it would have gotten blasted for the fuel-cut and vague clutch feel.

Ergonomically/interior wise, again middle of the pack. Max still doesn't "hold" you like a sports sedan should but in the SE leather trim, it is very comfortable and the controls are all easy to see, read and reach.

All in all, it confirmed to me that the Max 5spd SE is a great value as a sport sedan. Albeit not with the status of some of those tested.

Anyone else?
