Lug nut torque
Lug nut torque
I finally got Nissan to replace the rotors on my
2k se. I now need new tires and fear the installers will bend the rotors again when
cranking the wheels back on.
Anyone have specs. or suggestions to avoid warping
them when at a tire store? I always notice the
rotors bend rigt after tire work.

Thought so
I always heard and thought it did. I notice that
rotor troubles alway begin after wheel/tire
service too. I know there are specs for lug torque but ...I could possibly be the ignorant one
here. I dunno but trying to find out.
Cheers!

I'll watch these guys closely as they put em on.
I cant see Nissan springing for another set of
flawed rotors.

Oh, it's real easy to tell. You feel like you are
driving on a flat when you brake!
Seriously, the brakes "surge" or "flutter" when
the rotors are warpped. Annoying in town, down right dangerous at high speeds.
Nissan is aware the brakes they put on a 2k max are too small and poorly thought out. The dealer
lathed them 3 times in 20k miles and finally replaced them per my request(or the fact that they could no longer be legally resurfaced).
The 3 yr/36k mi warranty covers brake rotors.
I slid in there at 35,885.

Hey Col.,
You know, I tried that and got shot down. I bought it at Falhaber and have let them have at it
when needed. I have had some fit/trim issues, a
situation with some front stabilizer bar knocking
around and the brake issue. I tried to get out of the clutches of Falhaber and was told by both Kings and Busam that once there is a claim(warranty) opened up for an issue, you cant use another dealer to review or fix the same problem. Now, it could be
that they see a pain-in-the-a (car and owner) a mile away and dont want to work on it, but that is the common story. I dont think much of Falhaber service, but after a few shots at each problem, they usually fix it. It is free anyhow.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try kings next time out.
Cheers!

Thanks!

I have tried Bausam and they are such cocky-know-it-alls that when I dropped my car off one time, I felt like I was taking a test and they were ALREADY making excuses upfront for my issues (vibration).
I was hoping you had good luck with Falhaber...but I guess not....
I work in Forest Park so there is a Dealership on North 4 (cant remember the name, right near the bypass 4 and 4 intersection, that I might give a whirl. I dont have my brake turn down documented because of the constant trouble and damage, Jay did it as a "favor" but he stated "that he was not obligated to do it because that is wear and tear..."
Jay (Kings) is still confused to this day as how I got 2K2 lights on my 2K1...I just laugh!

You know, if you have NOT been to Falhaber, you should try em. They are definitely nice and run an organized shop. I have had no real troubles with them, really, it's all been the car.
They seem to be on my side when crap happens and I am satisfied overall. There's nothing you can do about dealer shops being plain stupid, that's
in their nature. They gave me no grief with my complaints so far and fixed em.
Falhaber's not too far from Fpark.

Unless you are desparate...DONT! They have done over 1K of damage to my car! Interior of course. It got to the point that to fix something they broke..they would break something else. The last part of their "replacement" I did myself to insure no other parts got broken.
