Matching HID and Fogs

k, did some searches and its hard to find an answer because so many people do different things. I got the PIAA super plasma fogs and they look really good in my opinion. Now for the High Beam. PIAA doesn't make a super plasma 9005 series. What do you think i should use in place of it?

That's a great question, I have the same one as you! I'm planning on getting the Superplasma for my H3 fogs, and the 168/194 clearance light. Since there's no 9005 Superplasma, I was thinking maybe Xtreme White? But I have no idea how if that would match though...

I dont recommend superplasma unless you have the real HID system b/c the h3 superplasma have a hint of purple which give it the & I dont know any bulbs out there that can match that.....also I had the H3 superplasma but they burnt out twice on me within 7 months while my other friends are still running their xtreme bulbs....

I am looking at the lights at www.midnightmoose.com because they are pretty close to the stock HIDs. I'll be changing the fogs and the high beams very soon.

are you talking about the Eaglite and Mag "HID" lights. I'm skeptical because my PIAA superplasma fogs cost approx $60. these are only 24. I'd like to see a pic with the HID's or hear some feedback if anyone has these lights from midnightmoose.

From the pic, it doesn't really seem like they match that well. How is it in real life NFISHER?

yeah, i want to know as well. I leave the fog lights off becuase the HIDs look so much better when they are on by themselves. I want a more "HID" look for the fogs... Anyone?>

I have the PIAA Xtreme white H3's in my foglights and they match very well. Are the EXACTLY the same? No but very close. You really have to take a good look at them to tell the difference. Most people couldn't tell the difference but enthusiasts like us can. The HID's still have a little bit more blue to them while the Xtreme whites are, well, xtremely white. Despite the slight difference, it's a HUGE improvement over the stock bulbs!

Wait...so you've heard that the Xtreme White matches better than the Super Plasma? For the H3's and/or for the 168/194 clearance light too?

Hey, are the HIDs easy to install? Can I do it myself? No problems with them yet?

Thanks

check this site out

http://midnightmoose.com/xenongallery.htm#

there is a guy with a 2k2 max that replaced the high beams to the eagilites.

i really recommend the eaglites, they are cheap, and have a really nice color, and i had them now for about 3 months and no problems yet

Hmm, that gallery is odd - at least for the 2k2. Their "before shot" mentions it's Halogen. Even the HID on the 2k2 looks yellow.

HID Kit was plug & Play... Same thing with the H4's just connect the positive and then the ground... I had my kit for about 6+ months now. No problems so far.. I can just drive with my fogs if I wanted to and it would still be as bright

My PIAA H3 Super Plasmas match my Panasonic HIDs pretty well. They match the 2k2 HIDs too.

Hmm, sounds good to me. Where the fogs harder to install since its all crammed up under the car? Did you have to connect it to the battery? How much did the whole thing cost and is the GD still going on?

Thanks again,
J.

Well the H3 cost the same as the H4. 97GLES has them for $395 shipped for the 6400K kit in the GD forum. Thats the one I have.. You can get it for $385 if you pick it up I believe.. No it didn't need to be wired to the battery. Just the positive and negative. You can tap into the positive wire in the fogs. The ballast and starter just get mounted behind the front bumper.

This is what my 02 looks like with the PIAA Xtreme Whites H3 Fogs and Polarg 194's. To see my picture, you need to click on my profile, i'm still trying to figure out my new software. Sorry. I think that the lights all match really good.
