Is the Audio system (specifically the Subwoofer)

covered under warrenty?
after getting my car serviced today, the guy called me and said the amp in the sub shorted out. so the whole sub needs to be replaced. said it would cost around $560. even though i like to feel my music, i can hold off on paying that much right now..

has anyone else had problems with the sub in the max? my car's not even 3 years old, and i never had the bass controls past the mid pt (cuz i was paranoid of having a speaker blow out if turned up the volume) so i don't know how or why it should have happened. looks like an aftermarket system might be a near future mod . . .

well, i just looked at the warranty coverage and the only things for 60K miles is powertrain. my bumper-to-bumper coverage ran out about a year and a half ago . . oh well

Trash it and get a BassLink(~$200).

The BassLink blows away the BOSE woofer. I should have the rest of my pics up by this weekend, but there are others that have posted them already.

Hi there My 2000 Maxima audio system doesn't work for a while after I replace a starter engine from the mechanic. It seems have a security code err show on the panel. However this morning I tried to turn on the cd & radio then it works. After having a good wash and I try to put another cd then it couldn't turn on again. Anyone can help? Thanks for reading!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Bose. You are experiencing the start of the total failure of the CD player. Unfortunately, your problem will only get worse. Start looking for a replacement.
