yet another maf problem
yet another maf problem
I know you've all heard it before but my damn airflow sensor went out. I'm so ****ed, I hope Nissan fixes it cause i dont have the money to fix it right now. Put on a Berk intake this afternoon. First drive out my car sputters and dies. Cranks idle drops slowly and dies. Acts like its running out of gas, ****ing me off. I know i probably must have damaged it while putting the intake on, may have shook it around the wrong way or something. I was really gentle and i've put tons of intakes on cars and never had a single problem. When its my own car, and not even a performance machine, something has to mess up. I just hate this type of thing. Sorry to rant, i just had to vent.
Re: yet another maf problem
Same problem happened to me. Doing about 65MPH on a 5-lane non-divided highway, and that damn sensor went out on me. Like a Ford and a fuelpup shut off, the car died in the middle of lunch hour traffic. Nissan was a real P.I.T.A. about it for a year old car with 14k miles. They didn't have the part in stock, and was gonna take 5 days. Then they wouldn't give me a rental. After 8 long days of driving a GRAND AM, i got my car back. They forgot to hook up some hoses, and i got BAD MPG till I fixed it myself. Ohhhh well, such is life.

When installing the intake make sure the MAF senser is straight up and not sideways. Vertical not horizontal. Courtesy parts will sell you a replacement if you are over your warranty.
