Politeness, Creed, and my 2K2 saved me tonight (Long)

First off, I never speed in residential/populated areas, but usually do about 5-10 over on highways. I've noticed my highway speeds have increased since I got the Max; it's so addictive having one of the most powerful sedans on the road.
Anyway, I'm cruising home tonight after the Creed concert, jamming to "Bullets" set on repeat and flowing with traffic. By the time I realized the other traffic was now behind me I was nailed by Virginia's Finest. He was pulling out as I passed him so I just started pulling over and he hit the lights. I've never been stopped and never had an accident in 11 years of driving, but I did have everything ready for him. Handed him my license, registration, and military ID. He said "I stopped you because you were doing 75," and I said "Yes, sir. I know." He checked out my stuff and asked why and I told him we had just come out of the Creed concert and were listening to them and just cruising, and he asked "How was the concert?" I told him it was great and he just smiled. Then he started a sentence "So, is this one of the...(pause as he checks out my HIDs)yep." Guess he liked the 2002s. Handed me my stuff back and said "Have a nice night, and slow down."
Whew. Bottom line, be polite, say "yes, sir" a lot and don't argue. I fully expected to get a ticket because the state troopers usually don't let folks off. Needless to say, the Max is staying closer to the speed limit from now on.

You got lucky. Maxima's are so smooth when cruising on highway that you don't realize how fast you are going.

you getting off had as much to do with your military ID as it did your politeness. One without the other = ticket. Smart move on both parts.

Politeness works way better than rudeness. Trust me it has gotten me out of plenty of tickets, and rudeness got me in an holding cell in South Georgia and forced to pay the fine on the spot.
Whenever, I say "yes sir" and be respectful and honest I always get out the ticket. Just humble yourself and try it next time you get stopped, as much as it hurts on the inside to suck up to cop.

#1 - I have much respect for VA troopers. Very professional acting.

#2 - I got off once too, but it was because a fist fight broke out on the highway after an accident on the beltway. They had to go and let me go. (I was driving in HOV by myself).

#3 - How could you go to a concert and listen to that C0CKKNOCKER sing for a couple of hours. If there was ever a musician that I want to punch it is that fool Scott Staff from Creed!!

Major cool points lost on #3 man. But you make up for it with the Max.

You're lucky for getting out of that ticket, but what's with hating Creed? They ROCK (not sure about their newer stuff, but stuff from "My Own Prison" is the best. If you're going to hate him, at least get his name right .

I agree, if you have military ID, ALWAYS, ALWAYS use it with cops. 99% of cops will let you go if you weren't being a complete psycho on the road and treated the cop with respect (as everyone should, whether the cop is a *****/***** or a nice guy/girl).

I'll bet that it helps to be a girl, too.

Anyone ever see "Super Troopers"?

If you're a girl, DON'T show any cleavage, DON'T fake crying, DON'T try to be all sexy, etc.

Most cops have seen it all and can't stand girls that pull those moves on them, it ****es them off even more. Any experienced cop can see right through all that acting.
