Short Shifter on 2k2/2k3

I just went to Nissan site and watched the 360 degree quicktime interior view. Did anyone see it? did you guys notice how short that shifter is? I think we got ripped off.

That's what I'm talking about. I hate the shifter in the 6-speed... I drove the CLS-6-speed and the throws compared to the maxy are night and day. You can shift that thing with two fingers.

I am totally with you, man. Ours is almost as long as a truck shifter. I am going to take mine apart to see if I can cut it down an inch or so, I am getting ****ed

I really want to know if we are going to be able to use that shifter on our cars. I know it's rear wheel drive but I heard its basically the same transmission. What would front/rear wheel drive have to do with the shifter any way?

Isn't it the same FWD as ours? Why would it be RWD? It's not a newer model...

That would be cool. Definitely keep us posted on what you find out. Hopefully it will be good news.

If that's the case I think we would have to go to the dealer and check out one in person because I think that what we're seeing on that quicktime is just a distorted angle. You can't judge by that view if it is a short throw or not.

cutting the stick does not make a short throw shifter
