SES light for second time

SES light for second time
After resetting the SES by unplugging the battery about 3 months ago it came on again yesterday. My warranty is over by about 300 miles. Is there any chance of my car going into limp mode if I just drive it around, or any other major problems? The dealer isn't able to update my ECU due to wiring issues.

That kinda sucks that they cant update your ECU..They really should have fixed the problem when you were under warranty. There was a TSB out there on the ECU update. If I was you I would call the dealer and get them to fix your car.
Driving around with the SES light on may or may not put you in limp mode. It really depends on why the light is coming on..Have the code read ASAP.

I took my car to a local shop to have them pull the codes. It looks like my catalytic converter is having problems (may need replacement?). My warranty is over, I have a Berk intake. But the dealer did tell me to come back when I get my wiring fixed and that they'll update the ECU codes at no charge. What do you think my chances are getting this issue resolved at the dealer some morning this week?
The only difference in my wiring is that I changed the ignition tap for my 2k2 HIDs from the O2 sensor to my cig lighter. I'm hoping that was what kept my ECU from turing off when I turned the car off.
