foglight wiring question?

I have a 00 GXE that came without fogs and just installed an aftermaket set of fogs into the exising wiring and do not want to wire up a separate switch for them. My question is if I perform the foglight rewire will this bypass the need of the foglight switch on the turn stalk and turn on the fogs when the side markers are on or is the switch still necessary or is there another work around? If not does anyone know the price of the replacement stalk with foglight switch on it? Thanks for your help in advance.

I am pretty sure you still need a switch to turn them on. Doing the foglight re-wire allows the foglights to come on with the parking lights, but I think you need something to turn them on. Didn't your aftermarket foglights come with a switch?
