N/A Z32 vs. 00 max se

I was wondering how close a race would be between a 2000 automatic maxima se and a N/A 93 300zx, i know that the turbo 300zx is fast, but how does the non turbo version compare? thanks

My dad has a 90 300z, and I can pull on him a little bit. He gets me off the line, but I've definitely got the power advantage. The cars weigh about the same, and we're both 5 speeds...it's probably going to come down to the driver, but if you're both autos, those are pretty idiot-proof in a race.

thanks man i thouht it would be pretty even, but the 300 does have a 5 spd and its rwd so itll get off the line faster but i think the max would pull on it.

If you're a stock auto and he's a 5 speed you're going to have some trouble with him if the guy can drive.

i raced an n/a 300z in my auto 2k2. not sure if what transmission he was, but i beat him easily enough to the point where i would think a 2k would have a pretty good chance at beating one.

I agree with the above statement. If he's got an auto then you'll probably smoke him, but if he's got a 5spd then he may be able to give you a little bit of a challenge. Either way I think the Maxima would win.

im an auto 2k1 AE and I have raced a friend with a 300 non TT several times with the same result. hes 5spd and hops off the line with a half car lead then i pull him in. shutting it down at around 100, id say i have a car and half lead on him. i dont power brake just turn off traction and manually shift.

Those things arent that fast and very heavy for a Sports Car. Any Maxima 95 and up(92-94 VE 5spds as well) shouldnt have a problem with a stock N/A 300zx from 90-96 either auto or manual unless you mix it up auto max to manual 300 which is still close.

I pulled up to my neighbor...who was jogging...in my 2k3 SE 6 speed, and I say...Hey Bill! I finally bought something that can beat your Z! (196 NA 5 speed)....

he says...what?

DUH! This! you numbskull! he says my Max is 2 heavy, and he'd kill me...

HA!

then I post that story on zcar.com...get flamed for DAYS! it was great...flaming them, them flaming me...

Dude also has a 1988 Ferrari 328...or something like that...but I think a 2k3 Max would hang with it...while beating his 1996 300Z.

LOOK, I DID A SEARCH!
