Aftermarket horn replacement
Aftermarket horn replacement
i'm interested in replacing the weak oem horns w/ some aftermarket ones. i've done a search and seems that the easiest replacement would be w/ fiamm freeway blasters e&f. are these true "plug-n-play"? no mods necessary?
anyway, i was unable to see any pics of the install. one thread had little red x's instead of pics. can someone please repost some instructions and pics? i'm not even sure where the horns are. i'm assuming we have 2 horns in our max...one in the engine bay, the other behind the grill? that's about all i've gathered...is that correct? any help would be appreciated.

just looked under the hood...i'm not sure what i'm looking at, but seems to me that there are two horns mounted between the grill and the radiator??? is that right for a 2k2? on searches, people have posted that there's one inside the engine bay by the coolant and the other between the grill/radiator. confused...
I found these threads, they don't have that much information but it will help you get started:
Max34 fiamms
Fuse issue
I think you should go buy a set and check the instructions. They'll probably answer most of your questions. I plan to do the same.

well, i just went out to the local auto parts store and bought
FIAMM highway blaster E&F. and it was a direct replacement for the factory horns. btw, for 2k2...BOTH horns are mounted between the grill and the radiator. definitely a good upgrade for $25. but, not as impressive as i thought it would be.

I think its enough upgrade then those wimpy crappy stock ones.
sometimes i honk at people walking down the street coming from behind real close to the sidewalk , and they jump pretty high when i honk
then i knew its a loud horn

If you have any problems finding the horns, just stand under the hood and have someone hit the horn
Another horn solution is to use the factory horns from the I-35. They do not use your typical asian import horn, but more the american cars style. Unsure of p/n's or cost, but it's a direct bolt on.
