Max vs. '98 Z28

I was wondering if my 2001 auto stands a chance against a 1998 6-spd Z28.

yes it is very possible. but i say this assuming that you are running some kind of boost, if you think you can take out a 6speed Z with your 2k1 max. even with all bolt ons you dont have a chance. but if you do decide to race him go from a roll, otherwise his torque will embarrase you. but if you are turbo or s/c with mods or nos have some fun.

If you're anywhere near stock, you don't stand a chance. Even with every bolt on you can get, I still think you'll get smoked. If he roasts his tires on the launch, maybe you'll beat him to like 20mph or so. If he gets a perfect launch, hopefully he'll save you a seat at the bar. You should be there shortly.

i guess no one else wanted to play along.

a '98-02 LS1 (V8) Fbody will own you anywhere and at anytime.

considering they do mid 13s bone stock...some have even done high high 12s with DRs.

Considering you have a mid 15sec car... it might be tough.

2001 Z28 6speed 0-60 mph: 5.2 sec 1/4 mile: 13.8 (C/D). If car and driver can pull these numbers, it most likely can dip slightly lower.

But they have been beaten by a max before; most notably SR20DEN ran a 12.99 that beat an LS1 with 13.77... Of course your not SR20DEN, and you're not running a 150 (or more) shot of nitrous (or are you?).

Race anyway, if it's all for fun. At the least he should be impressed he didn't kill you the way he usually does 4 door sedans!

The fact that you are even posting this thread, shows me you have no idea what you are talking about !

My 95 Z28 can run with the LS1s, it's a little faster down low and a little slower up top(mid 13s), and I recently beat a 2002 6 spd maxima with no problems, so I think you may be in over your head, but good luck though

Only if you were dropping both cars off a cliff and were betting on which one would hit the ground first.

Can nonsense posts be deleted?

considering your mods, you had better be able to keep up with a stock LS1.

of course, the LT1s never really had the respect that the LS1s have.

hmmm. a LS1 1LE hardtop....if only i can find one.
