New owner of this fine vehicle, got some Q's

Hey party people. Well i finally picked up 1 of my favorite cars which is a 2000 Nissan Maxima GLE. Haha couldnt afford the 03 so oh well stuck with this. Well the problem is it's kind for my parents but i get it when i like considering it's mine, so it's an auto. I drove it a lot today and feels soooooo good, so much torque and power all around, so my question is how fast is it 1/4mile? I think it's faster than my lude but dunno. Also i dont wanna spend too much money hooking it up cuz i got my prelude for that but i just wanna do some cosmetics i guess. I like to make everything clear in front and buy a spoiler for it, anyone know where i can get these items? Also i could have picked a SE model, what is the top of the model maxima? the GLE had everything except the nicer rims and spoiler but is the GLE the top model? I dont know much about maxima's so any info on this fine vehicle will help, well thanks guys, lates

Oh boy, which one is top of the line. Well, the GLE is considered the "luxury" model, and the SE is considered the "sport" model. The GXE is the base. Some people think the GLE is the top model. Actually, a loaded SE will likely cost more than a GLE. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the chrome door handles. A little too 'hooptie' for me. But, some people say that about my tint.

As far as being faster than the qualude? Depends on the 'lude.

I would check other members' home pages for exterior mod ideas.

..."stuck" with a 2000. Welcome to the forums. You'll find such an incredible wealth of knowledge here, there are literally thousands of topics that you can search through. There is a decent amount of aftermarket equipment for appearances, one of the first places you may want to check out is www.custommaxima.com. Unfortunately you won't quite find the kind of aftermarket your used to with your Honda though!

Because I've been there when I started, and it p!issed me off. I swore I would never do it!! (But do notice I threw a "search" in there anyhow, just very quietly with tact!). Just give it time, I'm sure there will be more than a few replies like that...

One hit or miss place for stuff is ebay. Just make sure you know what the stuff is going for outside of ebay, and you can really get some good deals. I know you're more interested in appearance, but if you want that max to handle like the honda get yourself a $115 addco rear sway bar and a cheap ebay front strut tower brace (about $40-60 shipped). These are easy installs with a very noticable difference when driving hard.

a Quater mile time for a 00' max is in the ballpark of 15.5sec@88mph..Not supercar but not bad.
BTW I'm sure other's have seen lower/higher times.

That is being extremely optomistic. I would say more in the region of 16.0's.
