squeaks

I bought used Moda R6s and now my max has these squeaks when driving. Could the wheels cause this problem? Will I have problems going taking my max to the dealer? Will the dealer blame it on the wheels? Do I need new springs or stuts or can they be tightened?

Re: squeaks

I got Radius R6 wheels, which are pretty much the same as Modas. Don't have any problems with them. What kind of squals did you hear? Is it when you go over bumps, going into turns, braking? It could be anything, springs, struts, brakes, tires. Undo lug nuts and retorque to 85 in a star pattern (if you haven's done this yet). If you had a shop put on the wheels, they most likely didn't torque them to right specifications. Go to a reputable tire/suspention shop first. Dealer will blame the wheels for sure.

I hear the noise over bumps. It's terrible. The only time I ever hear this much sqeaks is when riding in a truck. I put the wheels on myself. I don't think the sqeaks are from the brakes or tires, other than that, I don't know.
