PLEASE help with tranny problem!
PLEASE help with tranny problem!
Hey guys, I am hoping there are some smart tranny guys out there reading this:
I have a 2k2 SE auto, 12,000 miles, and I have a transmission problem that is getting more and more irritating...
The dealer is playing dumb because up to this point the problem is generating no codes that an error has occurred. But it is getting worse and more
frequent.
The problem is that when I shift from 1st gear to 2nd, sometimes the shifts are WAY too hard. They bang so hard and loud that you would think something
hit the car underneath if you didn't already know it was the tranny. It doesn't happen 100% of the time, but often enough to be really worrisome and
frustrating on a 7 mo. old car!
Please, if there is any body else that has had a similar problem solved by the dealer, or may know what could be causing this, let me know. Its driving me
crazy! And I can't get the dealer to fix it under warranty unless a code is generated or I can get it to duplicate with him in the car... Its not like I have time
to drive there every time it is happening and hope he can 'hop in!'

Re: PLEASE help with tranny problem!
Alright, I have a 2000 SE and I had the same problem. I wwuld rev out in 1st gear and when it was time for the car to shift, it would hang up in 1st for a couple of seconds then bang into second gear. It also did it from third to fourth sometimes. There is a technical service bulletin on this problem. Search for it in this site. It is TSB dated 12/14/2000, reference #NTB00-039a and although it doesn't pertain to 2002's I'm am sure that if you took the TSB into the dealer, they would honor it and fix the car. They fixed mine for free last week and my ride did not fall into the applied VIN's that were supposed to be affected. Maybe since your car is exhibiting the same problem, they will realize that the solenoid should be replaced. Good Luck.

You need to find another dealer in your area.
When I take my max in, they bust their butt to do warantee work or TSB's. They get paid just the same (except it's from head corp. not me), and they are making the customer happy.
I even have extensive mod work, and they give me no hassles. You just have a *******, non-customer service oriented dealer.

Yo bro, when you reply to a post, you need to reply to the original thread or else he won't get an email notification. You see I received your reply and I am not the one who really needs it. The Max owner with the problem will only get a notification if you reply to his thread. I know that we are all on the sme page, however, the only way he will be able to read your thread is if he searches for it. Make it easier on him by addressing the thread directly to him, that way he will get the notification via email instead of other repliers and he can click on the link and it will take him directly to your reply.

Whether you start, or follow-up with a reply to, a thread that automatically subscribes you to that thread.
Everyone that is subscribed to a thread will get an e-mail notification, when subsiquent postings have been made, until you unsubscribe yourself.
Since you replied to his thread, you are now subscribed and will get a notice when anyone replies (as will everyone else who is subscribed). If you don't wish this to happen you need to unsubscribe yourself from this thread.
Re: PLEASE help with tranny problem!
