Need a suggestion for FSTB bolts

This problem came up awhile ago where FSTB bolts snap when you try to remove them. I'm talking about the ones that connect the cross beam to the mounting plates. When the first set broke, I replaced them with stainless steel bolts but just today one of those snapped when I went to remove it. Any suggestions on how to prevent this from happening again in the future? Should I be using some kind of anti-seize compound?

Not sure what you mean by them snapping. But use some anti-sieze compound

Bolt broke in half while trying to remove the nut. I didn't use anti-seize compound so I'll have to give it a try. Thanks.

What torque are you tightening them to?? With lock nuts you do not need much.

torque

I didn't measure that but I did use a lock nut. This bolt gives some of the tortional stiffness so I did bear down hard. Is there some number to use for any given bolt?

I think that is the problem, as I remember it is 35lbs which is not excessive. There are 3 bolts so the likelyhood of slide is minimal.
If you need a spec ,I can find it.

torque

I thought the 35lbs was for the bolts that hold the spring/strut assembly? The bolts I'm talking about are part of the FSTB and connect the mounting plate (which is held by the bolts you mention) to the tortion rod.
