2002 base model for $21000?
I wanted your opinions on a fair price for a 2002 Maxima SE 6 speed with cloth interior that I test drove over the weekend. I offered the dealer $21000 because it looked like the car has been there since 2001. The window sticker was faded and already falling off. There was nearly a 100 miles already on it and there was quite a few scuff marks etc on the interior and exterior which could have been removed.
My reasoning for that offer was that the Maxima was smaller than the Altima, the rear suspension was dated, the 3.5SE Altima performance is identical, and it was already 1 year old.
Unfortunately I am not a new owner of a '02, but I honestly feel that was a fair price for that car.
What do you think??

I think it is a strong offer but they would rather hold out for that 23k that will come in one day. "There is an a$$ for every seat" a salesman once told me on a one year old but still new Expedition that I offered a low amount on. A month later that Expedition for what wanted.

well i got an '02 SE 6-speed with splash guards and floormats for about $21.5k so if the one you are looking at has similar options then you are fairly close. i only got such a good deal on mine b/c i bought it in houston and you just don't buy manuals in houston. they wanted to get rid of it pretty bad.
